This Bank Holiday weekend saw four swimmers – Chloe, Hannah, Evie and Nell – race at the highly prestigious South West Regional Championships at the Plymouth Life Centre. Qualification for this meet is very tough, so they did well even to make it on to the starting list.
All four swimmers did themselves credit, with several personal bests. Chloe, swimming in the para multi-class 100m free and 100m back, came 7th and 9th respectively. Evie, briefly breaking off revision for her imminent GCSEs, was first reserve for the finals in both the 50m breaststroke and 50m freestyle and set a club record for the 50m free.
Very well done to all four girls and a huge thank you to the coaches, Gareth and Jacob (who himself swam in the 100m back), and team managers, as well as to all the volunteers and officials who made the meet possible.
