A fantastic 22 swimmers took part in our club 800m towards the end of October, all except four of them for the first time. They all put in swims to be proud of, with strikingly mature pacing across the board. A special shout-out to Lily who was less than 2s off a Devon time in her first attempt at the event. We were particularly pleased to see so many happy faces, with almost everyone saying they had enjoyed it.
That was followed two weekends later by the Swim England South-West winter championships. Four swimmers qualified (Hannah, Charlotte, Evie and Sam) in six events; Hannah was unfortunately unable to make the journey to Millfied, but Charlotte, Evie and Sam all performed very well. Sam achieved a six second PB in the 1500m and Evie shaved 0.07s off her 50m free time, setting another club record in the process.
