Saturday was the Dartmoor Sprint Meet, a gala run jointly with Exmouth and aimed particularly at those fairly new to competing. There was a fabulous turn-out – 152 swimmers, 23 of them from Tavistock – and plenty of excellent swims. Tavistock went away with at least their fair share of medals and PBs and Megan took over 5 seconds off the club 50m fly record (girls 8 years and under), a record which was set almost before she was born!
Other clubs taking part were Brixham, Dawlish, Exeter City, Launceston, Newton Abbot and Plymouth RNRM. Thank you to everyone who came and the volunteers and officials who enabled it to happen. We had a great time and look forward to doing it again next year.
Also last weekend was the Exeter Last Chance Regional Qualifier at the Life Centre. Chloe made excellent use of this last chance, taking 2 seconds off her 100m free PB and bagging herself a regional consideration time. Well done, Chloe!
